Pittsburgh 12 Volt 150 Psi Compact Air Compressor Review

Topic: 12 Volt 150 PSI Air Compressor
Posted By: Chippendale on 01/25/08 10:23pm Does anyone accept any experience with Harbor Freight's Central Pneumatic 12 volt, 150 PSI High Book Air Compressor? It is rated 1.05 CFM @ 90 PSI. It is their product item #93186-2VGA.

Their advertising claims information technology will fill a "car'south" flat tire in three minutes. Do you suppose it will take a trailer tire from about 70PSI to 80 PSI in a like amount of time? Will appreciate whatsoever feed back.

I am also considering their model 94734 compressor which is a 115 PSI and delivers 3.viii SCFM @ ninety PSI. Of grade, information technology is a skillful bit bigger.

Thank you

Posted By: longtrailer48 on 01/25/08 10:38pm Yeah, it didn't final likewise long. 1 CFM @90 psi isn't much air either. All-time way is to have a storage tank mounted somewhere and pump it in stages, and then y'all'll have air when it's needed but non wear out the pump. Saw one at Costco the other day that looked a lot better. The best one we've come with is an onetime car A/C pump. Has to be the blazon with oil, not refrigerant lubricated (York off a Volvo). It takes a fleck of fabricating to mount it with a pulley and drive it off the engine but human being does it pump air!! Good luck in your inquiry! Information technology's great to have air when RV'ing.

Posted By: 2oldman on 01/25/08 x:46pm Like everything, these pump ratings are extremely overinflated, no pun intended. You're ameliorate off with a 120v with a iv gallon tank. It takes long enough with one of those, permit alone a 12v 'toy' compressor.
Posted Past: time2roll on 01/25/08 10:57pm I take a Maxx Flow from Costco that I believe is vertually identical to the 93186. It is a very good smooth running compressor and inflates my tires in a very reasonable time to 50 psi. I retrieve it would do 100 psi simply fine also.

Inflator comparison Be sure to read the Viair / Superflow comparison link at the very lesser. You will encounter the HF compressor is same or similar.

These that connect direct to the battery are pretty practiced. If it plugs into the cigar lighter, take a pass.

I have the Maxx Flow from Costco and information technology works bang-up on the truck and camper tires @ 80 psi. You can buy ameliorate, simply you will have to spend a lot more than. This compressor gets skilful reviews from the 4WD crowd likewise.

Posted By: luvlabs on 01/26/08 05:48am I have that unit of measurement and it works pretty expert. I apply it as my redundancy air compressor when I don't want to drag a 110V compressor with me. I've had no problems with information technology inflating the trailer and or truck tires. Not the fastest, but style amend than most 12V compressors.

Taking a trailer tire from 70 psi to lxxx psi is about 45 sec to a minute. It's a pretty adept deal for $50.

Posted Past: Fredzo on 01/26/08 09:53am I used mine for the get-go time concluding weekend. Have a slow leak on one tire on the fiver, and it was down to threescore-lb. I hooked the 'pressor up and it took about 10 minutes to get to ninety. I like the screw-on chuck; get-go time I e'er used i.

It wasn't as fast as I'd similar, but for the money it seems pretty well fabricated and it did the job. Pretty repose, too.

Posted By: Karlvs on 01/26/08 03:06pm I accept a 12 volt compressor from Sears. It takes forever to pump my RV tires from lxx to 80 pounds. It is small and meaty. I had a blow out nearly eighteen months ago. The spare was pretty low. Having the 12 volt compressor to pump up the spare paid for itself. It isn't a real compressor simply works in an emergency.

I just checked my tire pressures today, I also had 2 with pocket-sized leaks, it concluded upwardly that the cores were not tight enough. I at first thought it was my extensions (needed to install Pressure Pro), simply it concluded up being the cores. The 1st time I checked, ane was down to 40 and the other at fifty from 65. Removed extensions, added air back to 65, came back a week later, had lost about 5 # in one and 2 or three in the other- Tightened cores, put extensions back on, brought back to lxx psi- that was iii weeks ago, checked today, they all were at seventy.

10 minutes to add air is too long for me. I suppose if I had no other selection, then it would have to do. I'm used to twenty or 30 seconds.

Anyway, bank check your cores.

Posted Past: mobeewan on 01/26/08 11:00pm I have the Harbor Freight's Central Pneumatic #93186-2VGA. It comes in a plastic carrying case. And so far it has worked okay for me. I have added air to tires and have used it to fill up a 7 gallon air tank several times to 120 PSI. I keep the tank backside my truck seat to employ to quick fill up low tires. Before I bought the pump I had to get to a self serve station and use air pumps that only filled the tank to lxx to 80 psi for most $1 to $1.50.
Posted By: nbounder on 01/27/08 09:09pm I plant that the HF unit has to be adjusted internally to the max to get 115PSI. Biggest prob is the cut-in pressure. Trying to become the tires up to 80PSI,when the tank gets down to 70, everything just sits at that place. I need to dump the tanks manually to get downwards to lx PSI when the compressor motor kicked back in. This becomes a pain in the ass doing six tires...continuously having to manually dump the tanks to get the force per unit area back to 115PSI. Luckly, I only demand to practice this once a month or so. If I could find the cut-in pressure aligning, I'd be a existent happy camper!

Posted By: cspera on 01/28/08 12:48pm I accept the $49 compressor from HF and am pleased with it.It clips directly to the truck battery and not into a 12v plug-in. My unit of measurement tires take 105# and I topped off all four tires and the truck tires @ 80#.
I accept a commercial? compressor at home but it is too hard to accept the fiver dwelling and the storage chiliad does not have electric so the HF unit is ideal.
